Hello Everyone!

The Lake Mary Museum has some exciting news to share concerning the upcoming year.  2026 marks our 100th anniversary for the museum and we will be celebrating all year!

Some of the planned exhibits are Quilting and Fabric Art starting in January, Honoring our Military in April and May, the Impact of the Railroads June through August, Local Artist Exhibit late August through September and we will be  finishing out the year with honoring our local visionary and philanthropist, Frank Evans in October through the end of 1926.

Frank Evans built much of this town including our museum which was built as a community center and the Chamber of Commerce building.  Frank started the Chamber in 1922.  He also was responsible for the construction of the 2 story building (corner of Country Club and Crystal Lake roads) across the street from the museum which held Millers Pharmacy and Ice Cream Parlor, a post office and one of the two early water towers. He oversaw the financing of the Lake Mary Community church, built the first gas station in Lake Mary and the Evansdale subdivision and many homes.  He also donated the property and buildings for the Seminole County Museum.

Frank gave 5 acres for the Lake Mary Elementary School original construction as well as personally financing an additional $6000 to build the Elementary School of brick instead of wood to make it sturdier.  In 1934 he and his wife Stella donated another 5 acres to expand the school property.
